About WinRAR.Co.NZ
In the 1970’s as a senior technician, Selwyn created and taught many technical courses, for telecommunications technicians. So after buying his first computer in 1980 he then produced 100’s of computing articles for New Zealand magazines and newspapers.
Selwyn also pioneered the first Computer Shows in New Zealand and also presented computer based seminars around New Zealand and in Canberra, Australia.
From 1980 to the 2020’s Selwyn also provided an online Bulletin Board Service in Auckland. Starting with 300 bits per second over a telephone, to swap ideas and public domain software using the original zip.exe
In 1985 he was invited into the computer industry, and then in 1992 he started his PC support business, until he “retired” in 2015.
From early January 1994 the original RAR.exe code arrived on his BBS site as a download file. Testing soon proved that RAR.exe was many times faster and much more efficient in compressing many files, while the original zip could only compress one file at a time!
So Selwyn immediately “snail mailed” US$29 to the original RAR distributor in Finland, and not only received his license, but also his invitation to be the certified New Zealand Australia and Pacific Islands RAR & WinRAR Distributor, that is still available via this website!
So ever since RAR.exe’s international release in January 1994, Selwyn has been using his teaching and technical skills to support RAR customers, and then WinRAR from its first release in 1995 when Windows 95 was first released.
After “retiring” his Auckland Technical Support service in 2015 he moved to Tauranga and started creating what is now his three RAR Secrets courses, that are designed for WinRAR users to much more easily learn how to create your own RAR.exe code applications!
Also from October 2020 until March 2026 he provided the WinRAR (and of course RAR) Technical Support for the WinRAR International Office, win-rar.com.
That service is now provided by AI.
During the 2020’s Selwyn also created the 3 RAR Secrets Courses: available now at https://rarsecrets.podia.com. These courses are designed to meet the needs of both new and experienced RAR.exe users. More details are available here.
The goal of the RSC website is to provide registered users with full access to any, or all, of our low-cost online courses. Where you can download, trial and modify any of the RAR.exe archiving apps, in the three RAR.exe training courses.
So please feel free to email any comments, suggestions, questions, and corrections, to selwyn.arrow@gmail.com as we would like to receive your feedback about our training courses, and this website!
